| Xanga is still blocked in China. Who knew?
I've decided I will have to binge drink every time or not drink at all. This state I exist in currently is driving me off the wall. | | |
| So strange, looking over my subscriptions. People who have not posted since Nov. 6, 2007, like theanna. April 8, 2008 (murasame). June 8, 2006 (skullflwr). These dates litter the page like epitaphs in a vast online graveyard. It makes me happy to see those who are still active -- vhsisbetter, Kalan71485. I greet them as I would an old colleague, both of us aged beyond recognition. We ask each other who we know just died. This exercis is like scanning the obituary pages in the morning, finding names of people you don't know and calling ones you do on account of reading about a recently deceased who happens to spark one of the few memories still kicking in that cold, soon-to-be-drained head of yours. If only you could remember, prompted by hello, what it is you want to say.

| Maybe. We'll see.
It's funny, this site was such a big part of my life for so long, then I left it just as the Xanga team began adding all these cool features -- a counter for every post, new widgets, etc. -- and did a re-design that makes everything look so slick. Of course, it's a bit more jumbled, less streamlined, but the layout really looks excellent.
My four Blogger blogs will probably take precedent, including this one that's launching in two weeks, but I'll visit here every so often.
Someday, someone will find this site, pull a quote out of it, and I'm going to be highly embarrassed.

| I don't concern myself with questions of life in the face of death.
Life in the face of life is more relevant. This hour, these minutes. I
watch the second hand tick away my time on Earth and realize death is
much too far away, that pondering it would be much too farsighted. How
about this second. This one. This.
These moments fleeing from me. We are all a plague poisoning everything
we love and everyone who loves us. I can hardly stand it. It makes me
think upon the sadness in this world. There is so much fucking sadness
in this world. How can one be so selfish as to think upon death? It is
senseless no matter what.

| I found out from this here that Zooey Deschanel attended Northwestern. This makes me quite happy for some reason.
(Surf's Up is a pretty cool movie.)
